The Washington D.C. 2017 FISTF GP & International Open were played on the weekend of July 8-9. The Maryland Subbuteo Club did a fine job organizing a fantastic weekend of table soccer.
Daniel Cranston (Black Rose Roma) won both events in impressive fashion. In Saturday’s GP final, he defeated Patrick Sheridan (Maryland SC) 4-1. Cranston kept up his excellent form on Sunday, winning the International Open with a 5-0 victory over Paul O’Donovan Rossa (Kent Invicta TFC).
GRTSC’s Peter Alegi did well to reach the semifinals in both competitions. After winning his group in both events, he lost 1-3 to Cranston in the GP and on sudden-death shots (0-0 aet) to O’Donovan Rossa in the Open.
Now it’s on to ASA Nationals Weekend right here in Michigan on August 4-6!
